Risk prediction in Oilseed rape
The development of risk tools for pests and diseases of Winter Oilseed Rape was funded by LINK collaborative research.
The disease component includes identifying risk of severe epidemics of stem canker and light leaf spot
in different regions of the UK.
Development of the system was undertaken by modelling existing
epidemiological data using empirical and simulation approaches to produce crop-specific disease forecasts.
Risk prediction
|
Phoma The forecast is based upon incidence of phoma canker the previous season, total rainfall in September/October, total rainfall in February/March and temperature in February. |
|
Light leaf spot The forecast is based upon the amount of pod disease the previous summer, summer temperature, the number of days during the winter with above average rainfall for the region. |
